Do I need to leave space behind the loudspeaker for cooling?
Yes, you do need some space for cooling. Be sure not to leave too large a distance between the loudspeaker and the wall behind it, as low frequency cancellation effects will start to occur.
Loudspeakers
The 6020A and HT206B do generate some heat so a little space (5 cm / 2”) should be left behind the loudspeaker just to be safe. Heat dissipation should generally not be a problem with these products.
TheHT208B and HT210B have thermal protection built into their power amplifiers so the dangers of overheating are reduced, however, care should still be taken to reduce such potential overheating. An optional rack mounting kit is available for the HT210B.
All other active speaker systems have separate rack mounted amplifier units as standard, so that loudspeaker cabinets will not suffer from any heat dissipation problems. See the respective operating manuals for cooling space requirements of the amplifier modules.
Subwoofers
The 5050A, HTS3B, HTS4B and HTS6 require some space for cooling, so leave some space for the heat to escape from the amplifier panel. For further details, see the specific operating manual.
