Brighton-based three-piece The Qemists began working together in a touring rock band in the late 90s, but developed a taste for drum n bass, touring and playing rock by day, while producing drum n bass and DJing by night. The trio were given their first break when Ninja Tune released their remix of Coldcut's Everything Is Under Control. The raucous blending of rock riffs with drum n bass brought the group to the attention of international DJs such as Laurent Garnier, Andy C and resulted in Pendulum adding the group to their Radio 1 Essential Mix.
Liam Black, one third of The Qemists, has recently added a pair of Genelec 6010A Active Loudspeakers to his home studio setup, along with a 5040A subwoofer: “We've got a complex of two studios, in a big industrial unit, but we're used to having our home setups and I realised I needed something to monitor with at home,” says Liam.

Leading UK audio visual installer FAB AV, recently won a hat-trick of prizes at the CEDIA Awards – the most prestigious awards ceremony in European custom installation. The Hertfordshire-based company achieved an unprecedented clean sweep of the prizes on offer in the home cinema categories. The judges acknowledged FAB AV’s technical skill and design creativity in all their winning entries. The three projects all feature loudspeakers from Genelec.

Genelec will take part in Helsinki Madrid FinDesign, the main exhibition of the Finnish Design Month event to be organised in Madrid. The exhibition will open on 4 November 2009 at the Matadero Madrid contemporary art centre and run until 10 January 2010. At the exhibition, Genelec will be showcasing a series of active loudspeakers and subwoofers.The latest product to come out of the ten-year collaboration between loudspeaker manufacturer Genelec and designer Harri Koskinen is small but feisty. The technology and design behind the active two-way loudspeaker Genelec 6010A and the active subwoofer Genelec 5040A have been refined over a long time. Suitable for a variety of uses at home, the sound reproduction quality of these loudspeakers is first-class – designed for professional use.
