Active Subwoofers
Genelec's active subwoofer systems are powerful low frequency loudspeakers, designed specially for high quality digital multichannel Home Theater systems. The amplifier unit integrated into the cabinet contains active crossover filters, driver overload protection circuits and a power amplifier.
The 5050A, HTS3B and HTS4B are powerful systems capable of reproducing frequencies in the range 25 - 120 Hz (± 3 dB) for the 5050A and 18 - 120 Hz (± 3 dB) for both HTS3B and HTS4B. They can be used with 6020A, HT206B, HT208B and HT210B. For larger rooms, we recommend the use of HTS6. All units have sensitivity, bass roll-off and crossover phase matching controls which can be adjusted to suit different acoustical environments and subwoofer positioning.
The combination of the cabinet and amplifier in one unit results in a robust and precisely matched system. The amplifier is mounted on vibration absorbers, which prevents damage to the electronics. The cabinet is made from MDF with rounded corners and hard-wearing textured black surface.
